Health, Harmony and Happiness

peaceDo you remember the days when you used to tirelessly run across your school ground in the sweltering sun, with no thought other than that of winning the game you were playing? The sweet taste of water after the game and although you might not have recognized - a complete feeling of harmony(this may vary depending on whether you were a spoilsport or not ;)).

The image that has been conjured up in your head with these words is a thing of the past and you think it is something you absolutely can not think of now. Think again. You played then for the sheer joy of playing, you would need to play now for the pleasant after taste - harmony.

Complete concentration during intensive physical activity and the overpowering peace that follows is nothing short of bliss.

Intensive physical activity is the key. Do anything that works for you - playing a game, yoga, pilates, tai-chi, etc. Personally, I have started leaning towards yoga and Iyengar yoga in specific. I have been going for quite some time now(nearly 2 months) and the benefits are phenomenal. The astounding variations of well-known asanas and the use of props to help people of all ages is what I find most unique about Iyengar yoga.

This will help you find an Iyengar yoga center near your place - any part of the world. The interesting thing is while India, where Iyengar yoga originated, has only 7 centers, the US has 228 centers. Goes to prove value is lost when familiar.

If you are in Bangalore, check this centre out. I go to the Koramangala center and the teacher is Mrs. Nirmala - an extremely dynamic and a deep thinking individual.

Neither health nor happiness is as elusive as it is made out to be, its out there for you enjoy, go for it!

PS: On an aside, I thought instead of posting “Battling Unproductivity PartTrois” as yet another sequel (see here and here), I’d get down to writing the article and once again attempt at getting back on track.

If I could afford it mine would be GoKarting for 25 min non stop like I did couple of months ago in the middle of my biggest stress zones @ work.
Those 25 min were the first time in months we had all stopped thinking abt the disasters @ work..
Yoga is on when I am back home!
